MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Lenoir City High School is to nurture the talent, intellect, and character of each student in order to prepare them to be active citizens of a global community.
STATEMENTS OF BELIEF
- The promotion of student learning is fostered through: (a) positive relationships among students, staff, and the community; (b) a safe environment, and (c) a relevant and rigorous curricula and activities.
- Instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities that appeal to differences in learning styles.
- Each student is a valued individual with unique emotional, social, academic, and physical needs; therefore, students from all categories may require special services and resources to best facilitate competent and confident decision making.
- Academic differentiation and cultural diversity enhance students’ understanding of different cultures and enrich their learning environment.
- A challenging, supportive learning environment utilizes a variety of assessment tools and technology to increase student academic performance and appropriate decision making.
- In order for a school and its students to be successful, the school’s decisions must adhere to State and local policy.
- Teachers, support personnel, administration, parents, students, and the community should be involved in and support all policies and decisions.
